About me

I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon with interests in hip, knee and shoulder surgery. Following completion of my orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Queensland Training Program, I undertook a dedicated fellowship year with Dr Ed Bateman on the Central Coast of New South Wales, gaining additional subspecialty experience in joint replacement, sports injuries and reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder.

My practice includes the treatment of arthritis, sports injuries, fractures and other conditions affecting the hip, knee and shoulder. I have a particular interest in using modern orthopaedic technologies, including robotic-assisted surgery and computer planning, together with muscle-sparing surgical techniques such as the direct anterior approach for hip replacement and the subvastus approach for knee replacement, to support both early rapid recovery and long-term outcomes.

I work closely with my patients to understand their goals and consider both non-surgical and surgical treatment options to develop an individualised treatment plan. I value clear communication and aim to build a respectful and trusting relationship with every patient throughout their treatment journey.

I also place great importance on working collaboratively with general practitioners, physiotherapists, sports physicians, allied health practitioners and specialist colleagues. I believe that strong communication and teamwork between healthcare professionals are essential to providing coordinated care and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.

I am bilingual and speak both English and Mandarin, allowing me to communicate directly with a broader range of patients and their families.

I hold public appointments at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, STARS (Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service) and Mater Brisbane. I also practise privately at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.

Outside of work, I am a husband and father who believes that “movement is life.” I enjoy an active lifestyle and am passionate about fitness, training and spending time with my young family. This philosophy influences both my personal life and my approach to patient care, as I strive to help people maintain mobility, independence and participation in the activities that are important to them.
